Sandro Carnicelli
Dr Sandro Carnicelli:  Programme Leader for BA Events Management and  BA Tourism 

Sandro Carnicelli is the Programme Leader and a lecturer in Events Management at the University of the West of Scotland and his main academic interests are: sport tourism, adventure tourism, outdoor recreation, tourist behaviour, serious leisure, volunteering and emotional labour. Sandro has been awarded the Skills Active Outdoor Recreation Research Scholarship (New Zealand, 2010) and the Carnegie Trust Grant (Scotland, 2011). Sandro has published articles in international journals including Tourism Management, Annals of Leisure Research and World Leisure. He is also a member of the ABRATUR (International Academy for the Development of Tourism Research in Brazil), of the Centre for Recreation Research (University of Otago), Leisure Studies Laboratory (Sao Paulo State University) and he is on the Executive Board of the Leisure Studies Association.




Carolynn Gray Programme Leader for BA Law and Business
Carolynn Gray

Carolynn completed her LLB study in 2003 obtaining a first class honours degree. She then worked for a year in a busy production environment devising, and successfully implementing, a project to minimise production line down-time and better communication between departments. Carolynn then re-entered academia and worked as a research assistant and tutor for a number of years, obtaining an LLM by research from Strathclyde University Law School in 2008. She has recently completed her PhD research at Glasgow University Law School. 
 

Carolynn’s other qualification include being a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy; Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education; LL.M by Research; LL.B (Hons) (First Class).
Carolynn’s teaching interests include: Family Law; LGBT rights and diversity; Legal research skills and Child Protection Law.
 

Steven Leonard Programme Leader for BAcc Bachelor of Accounting

Steven Leonard

Steven is our Programme Leader for BA Accounts and is one of the lecturers in Accounting and Finance, Steven also teaches in Financial Management and International Finance topics at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Programme leader for the Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) degree at UWS. Steven is a member of the Quality and Standards Committee of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland (CIOBS) and a Fellow of CIOBS and Chartered Banker.

 

Peter McGuire

Peter McGuire Programme Leader for BA Business, BA Applied Enterprise and BA Business and English

Peter has been a Lecturer since 1993 in a variety of subject areas. 
He leads the development team for BA Business Studies and BA Business. Peter has been instrumental in leading the BA Business Subject Health review Team. Peter is also a significant member of School Board and a Member of UWS Technology committee.

Jane Russell Programme Leader for BA Human Resource Management


  
Jane Russell

Jane is the interim Programme Leader for human Resource Management. Currently a Lecturer within the area of Human Resource Management and Management. Before taking up the position of a full-time academic in 2006 held a number of administration and HR positions from manager to COO to director level in a variety of industries from hospitality to accountancy organisations.



Benny Sweeney is the Programme Leader for BA Marketing
Benny Sweeney

Benny has been lecturing since 1983: Kilmarnock College: 1983-89, Bell College 1990-2007, UWS 2007—until present day


Benny’s qualifications include: BA (Hons) Marketing, University of Strathclyde, 1981; EMBA, Paisley Business School, 2005 and a Teaching Qualification Further Education, Jordanhill, 1989
