What I am doing now….
Working abroad through Camp America over the summer time in during his time at UWS. While at UWS…..
My decision to work abroad through Camp America came because I wanted to make use of the summer time whilst being a student. You get full time work, an amazing cultural experience, meet lots of people doing the same thing and working abroad boosts your CV. I have been 3 times now. I decided I wanted to study abroad after working with Camp America and working a ski season in France. I also really want companies to notice my CV. I never used to worry about it but suddenly I do. The Erasmus website has lots of information and there are lots of partner universities to choose from.
My journey…..
Talking to my adviser from the Careers and Employability service about internships and study abroad was extremely helpful. I was very unsure if it could actually happen for me until I spoke to him. How I have benefited…
I now want to apply for the Saltire programme to do an internship in the USA and really boost my CV. My careers adviser at the university said I can apply while studying abroad and he gave me an example of a Scottish student with average grades who ended up at a firm in Florida because I felt I am too much of an average student to make the grade. I was supplied with several websites which advertise for internships at home and abroad. My advice to students…
Camp America is certainly worth the effort for any student. It costs a bit of time and money to organise going but Camp America tell you everything you need to do and how to do it.
